To taste, there are notes of soft tannins and balanced fruit. This garnet red wine is approachable, but with a very long ageing potential. On the nose, it is intense and persistent, fruity and floral notes like violet and vanilla. Barolo is such a great wine which should not be described as a “basic” or “regular”.
Pio Cesare Barolo
Pio Cesare Barolo is a classic Barolo, with excellent structure and harmony, with very well balanced fruit flavours.
The nebbiolo grapes are sourced from family-owned vineyards and the balance of the grapes comes from other exclusive vineyards owned by growers, who have been providing grapes to the Pio Cesare family for generations. Vinification occurs in stainless steel tanks, with skin contact for 25 to 30 days. The wine is then aged in mid-toasted French oak for 30 months.
This is the classic traditional “Formula” used by the ancient Barolo Families to produce a Barolo which embraces and melts each of the peculiar characters of the different vineyards and terroirs of the Barolo area.
