Soft and balanced on the palate, this cuvée has the generous fruitiness of jam, black cherries and red currants with notes of liquorice, spice and garrigue herbs. Complex and aromatic, this is an elegant wine with fine tannins and a beautifully long finish.
Château Hospitalet Réserve Rouge Gérard Bertrand
Opulent and balanced with a generous fruitiness of jam, black cherries and red currants accompanied with notes of liquorice, spice and garrigue herbs.
The grapes were manually harvested and transported to the cellar in wooden tubs. Each variety was vinified separately. A portion of the Syrah was vinified using carbonic maceration. The Grenache and the Mourvèdre were destemmed and placed in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, for a traditional maceration which lasted between 20 to 25 days. At the end of the winter, the wines were racked, blended and placed in 225-litre barrels in the barrel cellar of Château l’Hospitalet for a period of 12 months.
Please note: unless the vintage has been specified we will send the first available vintage of this wine. If there is a certain vintage you would like then please contact us for availability or add a note to your order.
A wonderfully versatile blend which accompanies red meat, game dishes or mature cheese.
