York Gin

£44.95 £39.95

The historic city of York is famous for Romans and Vikings, medieval walls, the gothic Minster, the Shambles, Dick Turpin and now, at long last, York Gin.

The award-winning York Gin is hand-made in the historic city of York using traditional methods. This classic dry gin is distilled in a beautiful copper still named Ebor, after the Roman name for York, Eboracum. It includes black pepper, cardamom and grains of paradise, as well as a combination of classic botanicals including angelica and orris root.

A true craft gin company making quality spirits in Yorkshire, the story behind its inception and development is a quaint one. A local pub landlord, his friend (also a landlord) and the previous landlord, got together to come up with a new gin themed around York. They knew how to make it but not market it. Meanwhile, and unbeknown to them, a pub customer with an eye for design and marketing tried to register the “York Gin Company” but failed as the group had already taken it. They joined forces and the rest is history.

A lover of York Gin? Or never tried it, but maybe you love the famous historic City of York? Well, you can now personalise York Gin with a professional engraving directly onto your bottle. What better way to share a gift with someone than a personalised bottle of Gin?

If you are personalising your bottle, please check your words are 100% correct and please leave a phone number and valid email when you checkout in case we need to contact you. Note that we will pick the best layout and font for your bottle and message, but you can see the smaller product image for where the engraving will go.

On the nose, you will find a harmonious, warm hint of floral top notes. The palate is dry and juniper led, balanced by floral notes and warm cardamom. It has a gentle citrus edge complemented by the spiciness of coriander. To finish, there is an earthy dryness of angelica, balanced with peppery tones, with an aftertaste that is complex and smooth, no one tone takes precedent.
