1 – Morgue-a-rita
Everyone loves a margarita, so we have added a little Halloween twist to this all-time classic. Follow the original cocktail method of mixing 1 part tequila with 1/2 part triple sec and 2 parts lime juice, but we are adding the cocktail servers best friend, Grenadine (1 part) to bring a sticky redness to the cocktail. Combine these ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake until it feels very cold to hold. Carefully, pour through a strainer into a glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry and orange slice.
2 – The Shining
Inspired by the classic Stephen King horror film, The Shining. This is a classically-styled, aromatic rum cocktail meant for sipping. Combine 2 parts white rum (we recommend La Mauny Blanc) to 1 part spiced rum (stay with La Mauny and use the 1749 Ambre Spiced) and 1 part apple liqueur, mix vigorously with ice. Strain into your glass and add 2 dashes of Angostura Orange Bitters and orange zest to garnish.
3 – Dark and Stormy Daniels
Another rum-based cocktail, to make it more of an easy to make Halloween cocktail we have re-named it after Donald Trump’s old friend Stormy Daniels.
Start by stirring 1 teaspoon of sugar into 1 part lime juice until dissolved (you can get lime flavoured syrup instead). Add 2 parts dark rum (we love Goslings Black Seal), drop in some ice cubes and top up with ginger beer. Instead of serving with a lime wedge, don your glass with a maraschino cherry in honour of the inspiration that is Stormy Daniels!
4 – Ne-groan-i
That is a deliberate spelling mistake as a play on the trendiest cocktail of the year, the Negroni. This is such an easy to make Halloween cocktail. Just add your favourite Gin to Sweet Vermouth (Martini Rosso) and Campari in equal measures. Serve in short old-fashioned glass over ice and garnish with an orange slice. It is a rather bitter drink, but refreshing and strong all the same!
5 – The Graveyard
If you have been making all these Halloween cocktails in order, you should have all these ingredients (plus a bit of a vodka) left over to create the killer of all easy to make Halloween cocktails!
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine 1 part gin, 1 part white rum, 1 part tequila, and 1 part vodka (optional, but we love The Snow Queen for this). Shake and strain into a glass and top with sparkling water and a few dashes of Angostura Bitters. For a slightly different taste and texture, top with fresh apple juice instead of sparkling water.
