Here are our top picks to help you make the most of Easter.
The Perfect Wine for a Traditional Easter Gathering
Traditional Easter Sunday dinner may well mean lamb and there’s nothing better than a delicious red wine to compliment it. We can’t recommend the Primitivo di Manduria Riserva DOC ‘Anniversario 62’ by San Marzano enough. This is our most popular wine online and we just love the dense flavours with hints of prunes, chocolate covered black cherries and fresh herbs. It comes in standard 75cl but also as Magnum should you be having the family around!
For a lighter addition to Easter lunch, something from our range of fresh and fragrant white wines could be a Bank Holiday winner. We think you can’t go wrong with the Invitation White by Campuget. At £9.95, this blend of Grenache, Roussanne, and Viognier grapes is a really affordable wine that is spicy with grapefruit and lemon flavours finishing on a dry, mineral note.
Add Some Fizz to Your Easter Celebrations
If a four day weekend isn’t something to be celebrated then we don’t know what is! In that case, let’s go the extra mile and have some of the sparkling magic of Champagne! We recommend the Pol Roger range, from the Brut Reserve all the way up to the Winston Churchill Special Edition. If you don’t want to stretch to Champagne, we also have an excellent range of Prosecco from Fili.
Sweet Gin to Replace Those Bad Eggs!
The whole world is in love with gin at the moment and we are no exception. For something for your sweet tooth which isn’t an Easter Egg, try the amazing Sweet Violet gin liqueur by Zymurgorium. It is made with real Parma Violet sweets and it is flying off the shelves – in fact by the time this is published we may have sold out again, but you can pre-order! Sticking with the sweet topic, we have recently added Cherry Bakewell Gin, made with cherries and almonds to make it taste like the famous tart!
Taste will be open Good Friday but closed Easter Sunday & Monday, so make sure you call in beforehand to get fully stocked. Enjoy your weekend responsibly!
